Softball winning streak ends
PNW’s Softball lost their four win streak against University of Illinois-Springfield. The team lost with the final score of 4-1 during the first game.
After the team lost to University of Illinois-Springfield, that same day, March 3, they won against the team with a score of 9-1 with a total of 5 innings.
Niki Stansell, head coach, said the team had a good start to the season and will continue to grow from each game they play.
“When the losses do occur, we just take them as learning experiences. It shows what we need to work on and you are only as strong as your weakest link,” Stansell said.
Stansell said that after every game, the team evaluates themselves and that they continue to grow each time after each game.
Stansell said that her goal for the PNW Softball team is to be 1 percent better each day and to be the best version of themselves each day with putting in 100 percent effort into everything they do.
PNW’s Softball leaves on March 11 for their tournament in Clermont, Florida for the PFX Spring Games.
