What happened to The Chronicle and the Panther News Network?
In the spring and summer of 2016, members of the PUC Chronicle and the Panther News Network from Purdue North Central unified their publications. This included drafting a new policies and procedures manual for the new Purdue University Northwest Pioneer.
As the student-operated newspaper of Purdue University Northwest, we cover the news relevant to this university and the lives of its students. We strive to ensure timeliness, accuracy and objectivity. We will research our campus happenings and off-campus activities that impact our readers. We aim to gather the most current information about the plans and perspectives of administrators and faculty. We will follow university news in arts, leisure and sports with the goal of highlighting what is most consequential or unique. We are aware of our additional informational role to the faculty, administrators and staff and will work to make our newspaper as useful and reliable to them as to the students. We serve as an outlet for building the skills and professionalism of our writers, photographers, designers, editors and leadership.
