PNW course evaluations are now available for students to complete on Blackboard through Blue by eXplorance. The evaluations also have new course evaluation questions. There are five scaled-item questions about the course and instructor as well as a comment section.

Emily Hixon, associate professor of education, has been working on the new evaluations since last year. She said that the new evaluations started being officially distributed in summer 2017, and that Blue is being used by many higher education institutions to evaluate more than 1 million courses through Blackboard. She said Blue was chosen because it makes it easier for students to fill out evaluations.

“Since students are already in Blackboard regularly for their classes, we’re hoping this will make it even easier for students to access and complete course evaluations,” Hixon said. “The course evaluations can also be easily completed on a mobile device with no app or plug-in necessary.”
