Communication department introduces semester with Sock Hop into Art
Sock Hop into Art, hosted by the department of communication and creative arts, was held on August 23. The purpose of the event was to encourage students to get involved in the department.
Rhonda Nemri, communication and creative arts adviser, said she understands just how important diversity and creativity is to a student.
“No matter what, there is always room for students to be creative,” Nemri said.
This was the first year the communication department held Sock Hop into Art. During the event, faculty from the department discussed the department’s programs such as broadcasting, band, acting, choir and an open mic event.
“I just transferred this year and didn’t know that any of these programs existed without this event,” said Sean Hasse, computer science junior, said.
