Gisele Casanova, interim department chair and associate professor of Psychology, was named one of four individuals within the Purdue system to receive the Purdue University 2024 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dreamer Award. Casanova was recognized for her work to empower students to reach their full potential. She helped develop the Ethnic Studies program, she works closely with the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement program, serves as the faculty advisor to the Psychology Club, Theta Kappa Pi Sorority-Delta Chapter, and was the advisor to the Alpha Psi Lambda fraternity and the former central regional director of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
