When you ask Gabby Falcioni whether she’s better off today than she was four years ago, her answer is simple.
“COVID was terrible,” she said. “Just being able to talk with people face to face and not through a crappy microphone is a big improvement.”
A Purdue University Northwest mathematics major, Falcioni understands that not everything was bad four years ago.
“A lot of people were able to discover themselves,” she said. “During quarantine every day felt like a loop.
“Even as an introvert you sort of start to lose your mind in a situation like that.” Falcioni said. “You tend to miss social interactions as it is sort of human nature.”
But she said the isolation was challenging.
Today, Falcioni said she feels more focused on studies and the challenges before her.
“I would say my work ethic has definitely improved,” Falcioni said. ”I have to study or else I will fail.”
