The new Student Government Association president and vice president are new to the roles, but not to leadership.
Chloe Belford was elected SGA president and Mya Bell was elected vice president for the 2024-2025 school year, after defeating the ticket of Kylie McDermott and Kolton Bennett.

“I want to make sure everything I do as president is beneficial to the students,” said Belford, a junior majoring in Psychology. “I really want to unify PNW as one big happy family where everyone feels at home.”
Belford was SGA vice president under former President David Bolton, who is graduating.
“I worked closely with David as he was building up the student government, and I quickly fell in love with being a part of the SGA at PNW,” she said. “From then on, I knew I wanted to help make a difference.”
Belford has been active on campus, participating in Honors College, the Alpha Psi Lambda co-ed fraternity, Criminal Justice Club and Honors College Peer Mentor. She also volunteers at the Challenger Learning Center.
Bell said Belford’s dedication inspired her to become her vice-presidential running-mate.
Bell is a junior double-majoring in Human Development and Family Studies and Political Science. She is also active on campus, serving as president of the Honors Student Advisory Board, the Human Development and Family Science group and the CHESS Student Advisory Board. She is also an educator at the Challenger Center, vice president of the school’s Food Pantry Committee and a TRIO member.

She said her work has allowed her to learn about the university’s different cultures.
“The food pantry attracts a lot of international students and I love learning … about their backgrounds and listening to their needs,” she said.
Belford and Bell plan to identify opportunities to represent students by attending as many cultural and student events as possible.
“We are here to help in any way we can,” said Belford. “I hope to make PNW a better place than [when] I started as a student.”
