To encourage faculty to do more research and scholarship the university has launched four initiatives to provide financial support.
The programs are open to all faculty members across disciplines, offering critical funding to support research projects, book publications and the acquisition of necessary lab equipment.
“We want our faculty to be at the forefront of their fields, not just following trends but shaping the future of their disciplines,” said Maja Marjanovic, director of Research and Sponsored Programs. “By supporting faculty research, we ensure that our students receive the most current and relevant education.”She said the new initiatives are part of the university’s ongoing commitment to making sure research at PNW remains cutting-edge.
They are designed to provide faculty with the resources needed to pursue innovative projects and develop research proposals that can attract national and international funding.
The programs are tailored to achieve different objectives.
The Research Bridge Program is designed to offer bridge support for research between rounds of funding – to ensure the work is not interrupted by funding gaps.
Seed Funding for Academic Books is an effort to free up the time faculty members need to complete the work needed to write a book.
One of the unique aspects of these funding opportunities is that they are open to faculty across all disciplines, from the humanities to the sciences.
Marjanovic said the university initiatives aim to support work in all disciplines.
“Research and scholarship are not limited to any one field,” she said. “We encourage faculty from every discipline.”
