Kennedi Brass’ New Year’s resolutions involve the spiritual and the practical.
“My … resolutions are getting closer to God, and getting my work done,” said the freshman Communication major.
Brass has already taken steps to achieve her 2025 goals.
“Contributing to bible study groups is helping me achieve my goal to build a relationship with God in 2025,” she said, adding that she attends a study group with friends and reads the Bible every day.
On the academic side, Brass is more diligent about getting her schoolwork done.
“I have a planner or a journal to stay organized and stay consistent,” she said. “Consistency is key.”
New Year’s resolutions are not new to Brass. Last year, she focused on improving her volleyball game so she could do better as a defensive specialist on the PNW team.
“My goal last year was to be confident on the court coming in as a freshman,” she said. “I put the work in, I spent extra time going to the gym.”
Brass looks forward to what 2025 has in store for her personally and academically and hopes the resolutions enable her to take more advantage of what’s to come. But she said it will require her to focus on her goals.
“Not everything you want is going to happen right away,” she said. “You [have to] stay on task and don’t fall behind in anything.”
