Fitness and Recreation Center offers new group fitness classes
The Fitness and Recreation Center at the Hammond Campus is offering new group exercise classes this spring semester. The classes range from Zumba and yoga to cardio, and abs and core.
The classes are taught by certified instructors John Bobalik, PNW fitness and recreation director, and Tabitha Stills, fitness center assistant at the Hammond campus.
Stills said that the classes are intended to give students different opportunities to engage in fitness activities.
“If the students want to give them a try, they’re more than welcome to try the class out before they commit. You’ll never know if they like the class or not,” Stills said.
The majority of the fitness classes offered are free of charge at the Hammond recreation center and DSSAC on the Westville campus.
Stills said that the abs and core class, taught by Bobalik, is the most popular.
“Some people really like group exercising, and others like coming here and doing their own thing,” Stills said.
Stills loves teaching the classes and hopes for a wider variety of fitness classes in the future.
