Rose Fuentes struggles with time management.
“I juggle two jobs while being a student and I do find myself stressed at times,” said the junior Marketing major. “But it is partially my fault because I am a perfectionist when it comes to my personal work and efforts.
“A lot of the time I stress myself out thinking I could always do better on my work when in reality there’s nothing wrong with it,” she said.
Fuentes said she forced herself to juggle her personal and school lives out of self defense.
“The more organized I am, the more I can get done efficiently without feeling stressed,” she said. “My agenda is also color-coded by how urgent I need to complete an assignment and which class it belongs to.”
“I try to complete my work as soon as possible to enjoy my free time, and by doing this I can … set time to myself,” she said.
Fuentes sees other students overworking themselves because they do not manage their time.
“It does get hard to juggle everything, but I try to remind myself that it’s only temporary stress I can manage,” she said. “The more I am used to juggling my responsibilities, the more I will learn to appreciate it in the future when I am in my profession.”
