PNW’s STEM program provides students hands-on experience

PNW’s STEM activities offer engineering students a range of practical experiences to supplement classroom learning. The STEM activities include:

Motorsports Formula SAE, in which students design, fund, manufacture and race a formula style, open-wheel race car. The team is comprised of engineering, technology, finance, marketing and other majors.

Society of Automotive Engineers Baja, in which students design, build, test, promote and race an off-road vehicle to compete against hundreds of schools nationwide. Teams compete to have their design accepted for manufacture by a fictitious firm.

NFPA Fluid Vehicle Challenge Team, which challenges students to redesign a traditional bicycle so that it utilizes hydraulics as the main source of power transmission. The team then competes with other schools to see whose bike is the fastest, most efficient and best looking.
