Chancellor Thomas Keon participated in the event as students cut the ribbon to officially inaugurate the lounge.

To give every student a place to hang out or study, PNW opened a multicultural lounge on the Hammond campus. The lounge is decorated with student artwork that expresses different cultures, and the administration said it will be an important part of the school’s efforts to make PNW more inclusive and welcoming. In comments during the lounge’s opening, Chancellor Thomas Keon said he is excited to put different student cultures on display and reminded the audience that PNW is one of the most diverse universities in Indiana. The university is collecting student artwork to display in the lounge.
