The Pioneer Mission Statement:
As the student-operated newspaper of Purdue University Northwest, we cover the news relevant to this university and the lives of its students. We strive to ensure timeliness, accuracy and objectivity. We will research our campus happenings and off-campus activities that have impact on the readers. We aim to gather the most current information about the plans and perspectives of administrators and faculty. We will follow university news in arts, leisure and sports with the goal of highlighting what is most consequential or unique. We are aware of our additional informational role to the faculty, administrators and staff and will work to make our newspaper as useful and reliable to them as to the students. We serve as an outlet for building the skills and professionalism of our writers, photographers, designers, editors and leadership.
